Obesity: Become Spiritually Equipped to Deal with Your Obese Child

Because of the significant physical and emotional impact that obesity has on young people there is a need to address the issue of obesity from a spiritual perspective. We know that obesity is due to many factors such as overeating, food choices offered by parents, activity patterns in the home, hormonal issues, and indulgence in large quantities of foods that have little nutritional value.

I remember this was the best and the worst time for me. I looked forward to seeing old friends, meeting new friends, and meeting a new teacher; but there were still fears of the unknown. Most kids have anxiety about being away from home. Like a lot of children, I felt stress and pressure about fitting in with the other kids.  So many things play a role in how you are perceived by your classmates (i.e. clothes, hair, looks, weight and height etc.) Parents, do not ignore this. Always remember what it was like when you were their age.  Parents can help kids to beat any back-to-schools blues by listening to their kids and scheduling special shopping and family time fun before the school-year begins and the routine kicks in.
